1. You can prepare for a flood, but there is no preparation or protection against lust.
2. Money: the illusion that puts people above others
3. Love is like the labyrinth: it twists and turns, has dead ends, pits and traps; some creatures along the way provide help or hurt. When at last you reach the end, you expect to find the one you love, only to find the Goblin King!

Plan for Random Assignment
I will be doing a story about Angel's Landing. No one in my group picked this, but I think it is one of my most thrilling tales.
My words are formality - which I will use as being the rules to hiking the trail - and belga (and this will be put in a conversation with foreigners or something). Also the other word given, illiterate, will be used for the lack of knowledge of the dangers entailed in this hike.

Awkward First Date
I picked him up; the roads were slick with snow. He came out in his casual clothes. He made some joke as he entered the vehicle and everyone laughed. I smiled, but I was distracted by driving. The voices continued to talk - it was cold.
When we reached the school he didn't open my doors, another person's date did that. The gym was warm and no one was really doing anything at the moment. We stood around and chatted. I was nervous; I couldn't dance. People finally started dancing to the music. I just hopped around with my group. The flashing strobe lights passed between us. Hundreds of sweaty bodies were pressed together.
It was near the end when we did a slow dance. It was awkward. We just stepped back and forth, our hands barely touched each other: afraid. This felt strangely like the sixth grade dance that we had been forced to do. We didn't meet each others' eyes (like we didn't really want to know who we were dancing with).
"Did you see the guy on animal planet who discovered that weird-faced animal? I think it's called the Redwood Butt Smiler."
Oh, he just had to say that.

Midnight Rider
The air was crisp and rushed by, stealing my breath. I was clutching the bar above my head; knuckles white. My body was pressed against the seat and everything passed with a blur. I looked at the driver next to me, she was barely old enough to drive a car!
The rhino we were currently in sped over the bump and onto the dirt road. I had never been in one of these vehicles, especially at night. I trusted my friend that she knew what she was doing, and really, she did know what she was doing. All she had to do was steer and look out for deer, and maybe the occasional hidden biker. I giggled insanely as we went over bumps and into dips, my stomach dropping a little behind. The dirt roads of Lamburg Park snaked all around creating endless possibilities and fun.
It was amazing. It was felt close to flying (except we were on the ground, in a vehicle, and we really weren't going that fast). The rolling hills, full of sagebrush and aspen trees, stretched for miles like the ocean. The mountains towered over them, a wall blocking them from other cities and populations. The sky was clear and the stars twinkled in the void of space. A full moon hung calm and luminescent over the earth. It's soft, cool rays spread like a blanket over the park. I breathed in deep; I could feel its calming effects.
We took a sudden sharp turn and I screamed in delight.

Supernatural
Supernatural, the TV show is starting its fourth season September 18th at 9 pm! For those who don't know what Supernatural is (shame on you), I will give a quick description.
Supernatural is about two brothers who travel across the United States hunting down urban legends. Ex. Bloody Mary, Mortimer, spirits, demons, Woman in White, Wendigo, etc.
That is the gist of it, I won't give away the little twists and turns that have occurred over the past three seasons. You'll just have to go and watch those episodes!
So, I know where I'll be next Thursday, where will you be?

The Dungeon
My apartment is an ordinary living space. It meets the needs of the group of girls living in them, and has only a few faults one could complain about. The kitchen is a little crowded, the couches smell a little off, and the walls are a bit too thin. The air conditioner is right next to my window. At nights it roars loudly in my sleepy ears and I can't even appreciate the cool air against my brow. That's why I turn the thermometer off. I don't care if my roommates get hot, they can deal with that problem far better than I can if the machine was left on.
Really, there's not much to complain about.
There is something really strange in this apartment though. Something, that at first freaked out one of my roommates, but now she exploits it whenever she has the chance. It is our dungeon. This little basement cannot be accessed by stairs or ladders. No, it is hidden by a trap door in our pantry. With the help of the boys next door, we explored this unbidden territory.
There is a few feet where you must drop onto hard dirt ground. It is pitch black, until you find the lone light. It smells musty and the dampness creeps along your skin. The dungeon stretches on, past the skeletons of unfinished paneling and under the whole apartment complex. The darkness engulfs those parts.
Hay is littered across the ground along with various other discarded items. While the installation from the floor above sags, making the ceiling of this area lower than it previously was. While checking around this basement, we came to the realization that no one else had access to this hidden appendage of the apartments. That thought brought great relief to my roommates and myself. We were half afraid that someone would sneak under there and pop up into our apartment and kill us all. But since we had the only trap door, we felt secure in our dwelling.
To say the least, this dungeon is an attraction for friends and neighbors. It was an odd place. I hope that nothing will occur from it, save the Halloween party we plan on having down there. I hope there aren't any little critters crawling around down there, below me. All I want is a normal apartment where I can live for a few months and be safe.
